Jungian Psychotherapy

Artemis Papert, Ph.D., Jungian analyst

Why Jungian analysis?
Jungian analysis / psychotherapy allows you to explore who you really are, to discover hidden and forgotten parts of yourself. As you discover more about those parts, you will find it easier to understand and deal with your inner conflicts.

You may be facing a deep crisis, you may be feeling stuck in your life, or you may be curious to know yourself better.

Bereavement, burnout, stress, divorce, relationship difficulties are some of the specific issues I can help you with.

Anybody interested in gaining a deeper understanding of themselves can benefit from Jungian psychotherapy. If you are a 'highly sensitive person' or an 'introvert' you might find that Jungian analysis is a good fit for you.

I will listen and accompany you on your journey of psyhcological exploration and self discovery.

What is Jungian analysis about?
Jungian analysis focuses on both the conscious and the unconscious part of the psyche.

Dreams (if you remember them) are a way of connecting with your unconscious. Dreams are messages from the unconscious, your real "other half". At first the language of dreams may feel like a foreign language. As you become more fluent in the language of dreams they often provide useful insights into yourself and your daily life.

Myths and fairy tales are other helpers on your journey. We all have a personal myth to discover and explore.

I encourage my clients to use creative arts as a tool for self-exploration and for connecting with their own creativity.

My background
When, nearly thirty years ago, I first came across Carl Jung's ideas a whole world opened up for me. I was immediately attracted by how dreams, myths, and fairy tales can help us connect to the unconsious psyche.

I eventually decided to train as a Jungian analyst, training with the Independent Group of Analytical Psychologists (IGAP).

Before becoming a psychoanalyst I worked as a biology researcher. Thus I am aware of how stressful academic life can be.

I am also a Shiatsu therapist with a special interest in the interaction between body and mind.

My professional affiliations are with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and IGAP.
